Why become a member?

As one benefit of your membership, you will receive a subscription to Simone de Beauvoir Studies, which is published in both electronic and print versions.

You will also have access to the "Society Members Only" section of our website where you will find a number of documents attesting to the long and rich history of our group, including:
--Open letters from past Presidents; --Digitized versions of the newsletters which our founding President, Yolanda Patterson, produced and mailed to members between 1983 and 2014, plus archives of newsletters you will receive going forward; --An extraordinary set of recordings, four hours of interviews Yolanda Patterson conducted with Simone de Beauvoir herself and with her sister Hélène. |
You will be part of a large community of scholars and people interested in Simone de Beauvoir. You will be able to participate in our in person and on-line events throughout the year: international conferences, webinars, research groups, reading groups . . . And you are welcome to submit your proposal for any events.

How to become a member?
Because the International Simone de Beauvoir Society is a non-profit organization, a portion of your membership dues and any additional donations to the Society may be deductible for those who pay U.S. tax.
There are two categories of membership. You are eligible for a reduced rate if you are retired, unemployed, or underemployed (less than half-time) or are currently enrolled as a student.
Regular Members:
1 year — $80
3 years — $225
Student/retired/unemployed or underemployed:
1 year — $45
3 years — $135
