In 2019, we commemorate 70 years of the publication of the masterwork The Second Sex, which has radically changed the comprehension and the understanding about the inequality between men and women, even though the struggle against patriarchy remains a big social challenge. Acclaimed as an inspiration for the modern Feminist Movement, distinguished novelist and autobiographical texts writer, Simone de Beauvoir must be reconducted to the main hall of the History of Philosophy too, due to her fundamental contributions in varied Philosophy research and work areas, especially, in the areas of Ethics, Politics, Phenomenology and Existentialism.
This event, unprecedented in Brazil, aims to congregate researchers, professors, enthusiasts, students and the whole community to take part of the activitiesorganized to celebrate Simone de Beauvoir´s thought.
