Beauvoir Webinar Series

Picture

The project

The Beauvoir Webinar Series was conceived out of the interest of Beauvoir scholars whose intention is to make present the continuous discourse on Beauvoir, her life, works, philosophy, influence even at the time of crisis.

While the pandemic has negatively impacted the lives of many people all over the world, this project anchors on the advantage of the capacity to communicate with the people all over the world to make possible the continual learning about life.

In recognition of the fact that there is still much to be learned from Beauvoir, the Webinar Series will focus on the various facets of her philosophy to be shared by invited speakers and/or commentators.

Collaborations

Origins:
The project was
conceived by Dr. Gina Opiniano (University of Santo Tomas) with the help of Marine Rouch (Universities of Toulouse and Lille). It is now an important part of The International Simone de Beauvoir Society as it is a way to consolidate our community.

Partnerships:
- Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Arts and Letters, University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines.
- Framespa, university of Toulouse, France.

What is a partnership?
A partnership allows, for example, to offer the webinars to students and also to distribute the contents more widely.

If you wish to participate:
To propose a partnership or to give a talk, present a book you published etc., please write to: beauvoirwebinarseries@gmail.com

Please, note that each Zoom session is recorded and available online. Please, visit the page of the sessions that interest you.

*The sessions are in English to allow people from all over the world to attend.
